Just an FYI for audiophiles. Mobile Fidelity is starting to release newly mastered version of the GD catalog on SACD and Vinyl. Sadly, Live/Dead is vinyl-only, but Garcia/Grisman is now out in his-res digital, and American Beauty and Workingman's are apparently following shortly:

They've got more Santana and Miles Davis on the way as well, but these should be absolute gems.

This is good news . Too bad about Live Dead . One of the joys of the old record was, with all the hiss, the sound of the hall . That opening to Dark Star is magical, but just a little less so on the various cd incarnations . That first Garcia Gisman , didn't sound as stellar as the latter ones that had the hccd in-code .
To be honest, I hardly ever listen to the Dead's studio stuff , I would dig it of the put out AOX, and Anthem with better sound (may not be able to) , AND in the AOX the earlier cluttered mix .( the phil mix of Anthem, is not too different but they could but his non fade Born Cross-eyed ).
